Aperture Studios "AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHY RACE"

Do you want to experience the best of the best that local Yarra businesses have to offer?

Do you want to take part in a fun, exciting, action packed day with friends for a chance to win some awesome prizes?

If you’ve answered yes to any of the above (and let’s face it, of course you have) then you’ve come to the right place.

In conjunction with the City of Yarra, on March 23rd 2013 Aperture Studios will be hosting ‘The Amazing Photography Race’ for those who share a love of photography and want to share in a fun filled day with friends.

The competition will begin at 10:00am starting at Aperture Studios, and finish at 2:30pm with a BBQ lunch provided at its conclusion.

Those who take part in the race will experience the services and benefits that close surrounding suburbs have to offer, with a focus on fun and creative photographic tasks and obstacles.

To enter, participants must enter in a team of 2-3 people (so feel free to invite your friends!).

Three entry categories exist determined by skill level. Categories will be divided into those who are professional photographers, photography students or amateur photographers.

The race will begin at Aperture studios in Richmond, with various obstacles being placed around Yarra suburbs in collaboration with local businesses and venues.

These obstacles will test participants’ creativity and thinking, with the teams that earn the most points from an outlined list of tasks to receive prizes.

A fun and exciting gallery night will be held at the studios 2 weeks after the competition to showcase the entrants’ photos taken throughout the race, with prizes being given for the best photos taken.

All entrants’ photos will be uploaded to the Aperture Studios website and Facebook page offering maximum exposure of the photographic skills of those who enter the competition, as well as for local businesses who work in collaboration with the event.

Anyone is welcome to take part in the competition!

A registration fee of $15 per participant includes entry to the competition and associated venues, as well as entry to the gallery exhibition night.

Participants will need to provide their own myki tickets for public transportation in the race, and bring their own digital camera to use. Any digital camera where you can show your pictures will do. If you don’t have one, you certainly know someone who does!
